The Authors

Nora was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, grew up in Sparta, New Jersey, and worked one summer in a fish hatchery on the James River outside Richmond (“home of the three-eyed catfish!”).

Mike was born in Durham, moved to Henderson, and mis-spent several months in Asheville, working in a mental hospital and sleeping on the floor of an unheated, empty house in Biltmore Forest. Together they have lived and raised their five children in New York City and Summit, N.J.
